Short version: we don't collect your data.

Nothing personally identifiable. No account, no email signup, no profile.

We run our own privacy-friendly analytics (a self-hosted instance of Umami) so we can see how many people use the map and which shows and filters are popular. It's cookieless and stores no personal data or device identifiers, so there's no tracking cookie and nothing that identifies you individually. We record anonymous, aggregated events like page views, which filters are used, and ticket link taps, along with the approximate location your visit came from (country, region and city), worked out from your IP address at the moment of the request. We don't store your IP address. We don't use Google Analytics or any third-party advertising trackers.

If you tap the "Near me" filter, your browser will ask permission for your location. Your exact position stays on your device and is used there to sort shows by how far away they are. We never receive it.

What we do record is a deliberately blurred version: your coordinates rounded to three decimal places, which is roughly 110 metres, plus the name of the Fringe area that falls in (for example “Pleasance” or “Royal Mile”). That tells us whereabouts in Edinburgh the map gets used, which helps us build it better, and it is deliberately too coarse to identify a home or a person. We also record whether you granted or refused permission, so we know how many people find the feature useful.

If you never tap the location button, none of this is collected.

Some show listings are clearly labelled as promoted, and the show has paid to appear there. We count how many times a promoted listing was on screen and how many times it was tapped, so we can report back to whoever paid. These counts are not linked to you and involve no profiling, no cookies, and no third-party ad network. Organic listings and ratings are never reordered by payment.

We host the site on Vercel. Vercel collects standard request logs (IP, user-agent, request path) for security and reliability purposes. See Vercel's privacy policy for details.

Show titles, times, venues and ticket links are sourced from public listings at edfringe.com. We don't handle ticket purchases — tapping a ticket link takes you to the official Fringe site.
