Raised in a Muslim household where singing on stage was forbidden, she became a professional singer anyway – performing for footballers and finance bros while chasing the kind of love Dawson's Creek and 90s romcoms promised her. Hajar blends stand-up, original songs and state-school nostalgia to explore faith, identity and teenage romantic idealism.
